I finally got my gun through the post and im really liking the looks of it.... Yes its a basic tube gun no rail ect... But i think its gonna be some good fun when i go out for a dive

Set it up with a double line wrap(might be a bit much for a single band 75) and shockcord

I have seen its about 50/50 on mono lines or braided lines. Can someone tell me the pros and cons of them?

Now just need to get in the water :)

Go for mono....crimped well it has never failed me, behaves itself in the water eg. no tangle, reloads etc. Use a boingee/bungee with clip to the shooting line loop so if you battle to get the spear back out of a fish, you can unclip and pull spear and shooting line through and save destroying the fish..

1.5mm 1.75mm & 2mm are all popular depending on your preference & the stiffness of the line.
Strimer line from B&Q is also a great choice!

I use 1.8mm in a lovely light blue colour! (Was on offer!)

I like the lighter size on my 75s as you don't need a bungee due to the line stretch but it will loose its stretch after 10 or so sessions.

So i can get 100, 150, 200 or 300 what should i get?

Right, just get 2mm or near enough, 300lb to 400lb mono.......it does not matter.....you do not need to be changing shooting line, and crimps every 10 sessions so use a bungee in line.
