I was looking at getting a pair of Cressi gara 2000's and was wondering what foot size I would need to order them in? I dive in cold water and always wear diving booties. My foot is a size 12.

Any insight would be much appreciated!

thanks in advance, Kelpy

P.S. I only have access to computers on weekends so if I don't respond to any furthur questions don't think that I have forgotten about the post, thanks.

I brought a pair of cressi gara 2000 last year and have the same foot size as you.Mine are size 46-47 12-13 and i wear 5mm socks.

I am going to buy a pair of picasso black team camu fins this year as i found the cressi gara's far too buoyant and would struggle to keep my legs flat when less than 5 mtrs.No problem with the action though a good fin but too light for my liking.

Hope this helps

I have a cressi gara 2000, my shoe size is 11.5 12 my fin size I have 46-47, with a 7 mm socks it is really tight.

Thanks guys,

just one last question, 46-47 is in cm???? Or am I wrong about that? What size does this equal in "US shoe sizes"?

thanks for all current info!

AB Diver,

Shoe size is not the only issue. The 12-13 Cressi is your proper size, but length of your foot is not as important as the width, and the instep or height of your foot across the top of the foot pocket.

I doubt that you can go with more than a 5mm sock unless you have a narrow foot.

I wear the 12-13 with a 5mm sock or two pair of 2mm socks, even though I am a wide 11, with a high instep. I can't wear the 10-11. If your foot goes numb after leaving them on for 15 minutes or so, that's no good.

Best is to demo them with the proper socks. It's just hard to find a store with both and a pool.

Cressi has a soft foot pocket and will be one of the best for a comfortable fit. Their fins do not float, but some others are more negative.
I have loved their fins for decades.

My shoe size that i wear is 7 1/2 to 8. I bought my garas in size 10 and 9. The size 10s keep poping off of my feet with my booties on, and they never really felt right or comfortable. I sent them back and got the 9s, they were too small for me to wear my booties, but i was able to wear 3mm neoprene socks with the fins. The fins feel a lot better now and i dont really get cold feet, i dive in waters very similar to yours (Neah Bay, Washington to be exact)
hope this helps with your decision.
