i'd like to go spearing in Cuba. I'm wondering about travelling w my spear gun thru Cuban and Bahamaian customs. Can you tell me about your travel logistics? I've been to Cuba twice now, so I'm comfortable w travel to and in Cuba.

I have had no problem at all going through customs in Cuba at all port destination I have been through, there are more problems with Canadian check in than in Cuba. No worry mate..enjoy yourself, I will spearfishing in Northern Cuba on the 3rd week of Aug
You will be there on the 3rd week of Aug? I was planning on being there from Aug 12-22. Are you interested in a spearing buddy? I speak broken spanish. I hit 110' freediving, but that was about a year ago. I've shot a 50 lb black grouper in 55' with a pole spear (freediving) and small fish as deep as 80'. However, at the moment, I've gained 15 lbs and out of shape. I'm sure I can still hunt in 40' or better.
I'm bringing some dive knives, spare shafts and other random stuff to give away. (I'm of Cuban parentage)

Anyways. I may extend my trip. I met a local spearo who I plan to meet up with, rent a car and let him take me to his spots. I'll stay away from the all-inclusives, opting for 'casa's particulares', etc.

No problem mate sure I will keep u posted, done the casa particulares trip a few times but not to my liking, I am debating whether to go to the north of Cuba or the south...it will depend on wind guru's prediction as I also Kite sail...
