Yeah Trux, I had the same idea some time ago.
My design was to use a kind of 'neck-airballoon'. The same thing as a neckweight but instead of lead inside it, it would be only air. It would be connected to the mask by a small pipe.

The reason why I gave up this design is that in CW you don't want to bring down more compressible air that you already bring, because of the change in buoyancy.

Two words -> fluid goggles.

Another option would be to use little compressed air cylinders like they use auto bicycle pumps but with an auto compensation mechanism all fixed to your mask. so as the pressure drops in the mask the cylinders release air!.

This would solve the size problem and the metal cylinders would act as head weights

Just some crazy daydream !!!

Those look pretty similar to these.

I doubt I could dive with one of those auto-compensating masks. Either I'd be laughing too hard, or afraid to take it out of my gear bag for fear of being ridiculed by all those around me.

They look a bit clownish. You know, like the bicycle type horns that clown often carry around and honk at people?

Maybe they need to be made in black, or perhaps camo! No, I know, a carbon-fiber, kevlar blend!
