Anyone in Cyprus want to buddy freedive. I'm a beginner but have reached or I shoudl say exceeded anything I can or shoudl be doing solo. I'm living near Larnaca and partiucarly like Cape Greco for diving.

Welcome....

Are you freediver or spero ?

Great. My favorite spot Cape Greco is right near you. Is there any problem diving on the "other side". I've been to one beautiful beach near Kyrenia/Girne and would like to get to know other good dive sites.

Recently two greek spero/freediver arrested while diving around girne. They didn't have diving license. May be you are able to dive with that license.

Murat, how should I get that license? maybe I should visit cyprus at february for a couple of days

License is for spearfishing. Probably you can do freedive since its free to go to the beach and swim. But rely on this, you know the poletics...

free beaches?

I was wondering about one Murat. I've only swum at one beach in the north. That was a beautiful little place called, I think Catalkoy Beach [sorry, can't do all the Turkish characters here, a little east of Kyrenia/Girne. I was with family and just swimming and snorkelling and was worrying retrospectively if I gone under slightly too long I could have been in trouble ;-))

Joking aside I know the poliltics. I've been living here 14 years. I've visited the north with my Greek Cypriot wife, kids and other relatives. We had no problems whatsoever....except at a couple of beaches west of Kyrenia: Five Mile and one other where we were asked to pay huge amounts of money to use the beach. we didn't.

Have you been down here to dive? Are you are Turkish Cypriot and therefore able to come down?
