Got my new Wong MG special a couple of weeks ago and it is unreal. Have yet to shoot it due to work, school, and weather but it is exactly what I was hoping for. My problem was that on the deeper rigs I was tired of dragging my big Wong Ono up and down but the cf hybrid wasnt the best gun in the land of monster AJ's, among others. A detachable tip for this hunting is a must and the range was a little short for what I wanted....basically I had the extremes of my hunting covered well. The 50" hybrid for reefs and shallower stuff and the Ono for the big blue but I wanted something inbetween...:hmm
The Mg special is 57" with an aluminum alexander muzzle and enclosed track. It can be powered up big time but I dont plan to. The gun is not ballasted like the bluewater guns so it is more like a slighty beefed up reef gun. It was originally designed for some guys in Florida that hunt an area of the gulf called the middle grounds but a phone call from Daryl and I knew this was what I was working on(we had actually been trying to figure out exactly what I wanted for some time and he happened to be developing this gun at that time...) It is a new model and I will try to get some pics of it soon. This thing is gonna slay em...
