Any chance of having a DB member get-together at DEMA? I'd enjoy a chance to meet and share a beer with fellow DBers!

-Mike

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the planet...

Stephan and I are going to be in Las Vegas for the full week starting on the 19th. Paul Kotik and I believe a couple of other "Staffers" will be in attendence as well.

So you should be in good company since you sound like you are going as well.

Send me or Stephan an email and well try to coordinate our get togethers...

Most of the DB Editorial Team will be there. If people are interested I can post details of where we can all meet and have a few drinks. I might even throw a couple of DB's tab.

Post in this thread if your interested, or PM/Email me.

got rooms?

anyone got xtra room in their room?

anderson

DAMN!!!! I just passed up the opportunity to go to DEMA! I would have been working at the Gates Drysuit Booth as a rep for Divers Supply, where I work.

Anderson,

I'm sure that if you want to come and you have a sleeping bag you can grab the couch in our room. Gotta check with Cliff but i'm sure he'd be cool with it for a night or two.

Damn!

I'm actually going to be diving that week! :hmm

No, hey really! It's my annual getogether with a buncha Santa Barbara types to go slay the lobster. To hear that Stephan might pop for a couple is enough to make me want to pull the gear out and throw in my SpongeBob pajamas!

And Tim is a rep at Discount eh??? niiiiice. :inlove

Have fun. The best establishments showcasing the smoooooth feminine attributtes are just down the way on the right. ;) I hear. :mute

I'm going to actually make it to dema this year, only for the 24th & 25th. You guys will be among the first I look for.

Hi all,

The DeeperBlue.net team is now gathering in Las Vegas for the DEMA show. Cliff and I have setup temporary HQ in the DoubleTree Hotel.

Anyone who wants to meet up during the show, please email me directly or call the hotel on (702) 948 4000 and ask to speak to me in room 340.

If neither Cliff nor myself are around leave a message and we'll contact you.

Also, we're going to start our coverage of DEMA on the main site today and run through the whole show till Saturday.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Things I learned at DEMA

1. Cliff and Stephan are much faster than they look.

2. Tequila isn't Cliff's best friend.

3. Cliff doesn't need tequila to be a dancin fool.

4. Rolan (DiveInn) is a great guy, but not such a great dancer.

5. Those DB dudes are tireless!

6. Weird blonde construction worker girls should NOT be mistaken for DiveInn staff!

In all seriousness it was great to meet everyone. Cliff and Stephan have my utmost respect for what they've done with this website. Rolan and the DiveInn staff are fantastic. And I can't leave out Jay Styron. It's always nice to meet some of the people you're communicating with online and it's even better when you find out that they're good people.

Cheers guys! :friday

I SECOND THAT

It was great to meet Stephan and Cliff after two days of just seeing blurrs in DB teeshirts fly by. Actually I met M-2(Mike) first, then we cornered Cliff till Stephan showed up. The folks @ the DiveInn booth were great. It was nice to see some of the big names in freediving there, I must say there are some very attractive lady freedivers;) , too bad there aren't more. Also it was great to be able to see almost the entire line of products from various freedive/spearfishing companies and speak w/ the reps about the products. It was a good time and I met a great bunch of guys from DB.
Jay

It was great to meet both Mike and Jay during the course of the show, as well as all the major characters in the FreeDiving world and of course all the reps we could get to.

I don't think my feet actual hit the ground during the week I was there but it was a great show filled with great people.

As the guys said the ScubaStore/DiveInn folks are great and we had many a night out with them (including a great last night where I ended up doubling my money in the casinos)...although I think I wore out poor old Cliff (40 and a grandpa) with walking around all day and partying at night (he sure loves his dancing!!)

I'm looking forward to meeting a whole load more of DB folks during Keys Kraze '03 as well. Although I feel we'll need to keep an eye on Mike who tends to get pulled onto the dance floor by strange ladies...

Thanks!

It sounds like you guys had a great time. I am pretty bummed that I couldn't go this year. :(

When is the write-up coming on all of the hot new gear? Do you have any pictures that you can post from the show?

Jon

Jon,

We will be resurrecting our analysis of the show in a week or so - both Cliff and I are swamped at the moment and are unable to finish our reports. Plus during the show we were swamped during show in interviewing and talking about the recent tragedy.

Thanks!

LOL!

"Cheap Tequila" is not my friend- especially on an empty stomach

But then ask Stephan about drinking one too many J.D. Black Label and Coke's - ;)

It was great to see some of the DB forum members.

Dancing Fool??? My wife has known that since we first met
