I would like to pass some time at blue hole with the freediveDahab, it's good to hear good coments and we have the owner here on DB

Trulala could you please tell what stuff do you have available besides freediving?

But you have to know the following. I went to Sharm twice and did the courses under supervision of Umberto Pelizzari. Both times we had a very nice and quiet Hotel directly to the sea. We were able to swim to the diving platforms. No boats needed or stuff like that. Very very nice.
If you want Nightlife, you have to go to Sharm City. But you can go there easily by a Taxi. It´s not expensive, and you´re in 10 to 15 minutes there. Depending on the race-driver ambitions of your taxi driver.

White Tips? Mantas? The biggest I´ve seen so far in Sharm was a Barracuda. But there´s a Video on Youtube, showing a White Tip near to the platforms during the Individual World Cup 2007.

FreediveDahab, the best I think is a private or small group training in the Blue Hole:

Both in Sharm and Dahab you can do very easily recreational freediving by yourself with your own freediving partner. Really nice coral reefs very near the coast line and a lot of colorful fishes. Sharks are really rare there, they are in the south part of Red Sea, like in Hurghada and in Sudan.

I like very much to do recreational freediving, too. Here you can see some examples why like to see something more than just a rope:

what is cheap by german standards probably will be expensive by portuguese ones and I will rent a shared apartment since I gonna be there a month or so, of course that I want marine life and lots I freedive for fun, numbers is for pool and wainter I can have those all year it's good to hear your detailed and honest review dennis77

Biggest we saw was a turtle at Sharm Beach reef and many many barracudas.

Manta rays, turtles and sharks can be seen better if you go from Sharm by boat to Ras Muhammad or Tiran. There are every day trips to those places in reasonable price. Prime shark time is August-September, but it's very hot then (air can be over 40C, especially in August).

Cheap by german standards? No, it´s not cheap. Or; not for me. It´s quite ridiculous, but it´s hard to find affordable flights from germany to Sharm. I could go twice to NY and back for what I pay this year for the flights to Sharm.

Ok, you´ll stay for a long time. I couldn´t afford a Hotel for such a long time, too.


Anyway; go there, have fun. Nothing more to say. You´ll be blown away. I will go there next month for twoo weeks. Right now I´m almost counting the days until then.

I can't say for Desert Divers but I can say for Freedive Dahab. Their location is great, their courses are fun and you are also diving with two of some the world's most prolific freedivers

Dahab is a peaceful laid back escape to go and hang out and not be amongst 1000s of other tourists hanging out in budgie smugglers and psychedelic shirts. In Dahab the people are relaxed, its almost like the Glastonbury of Northern Africa.

easyjet will give u flights cheap as 120 E
anyway I will be at AA at freediving week (I Hope) I'm expting lot's of good things

Runway from tourist noop I live in a boring place (I would dare to say the entire country but we can't forget our lovely islands) myself I think a little party, haging arround, shicha and drink once a year for a darling angel like won't do any harm

titan; you know, the first two trips I had a girlfriend, which is now my wife. In her opinion a trip to Egypt is adventure enough. There doesn´t has to bee added more thrill by not going one-stop to Sharm. So,.... I have to pick a direct flight.

To get the whole picture (it's in Egypt anyway)...there is still some marks of real Egyptian style in Dahab. And I liked that it is not just a tourist place, there is still some "real life", too.

Some day this can be a crushing experience to someone. Just hope (or pray to Allah) that there will not be a weak earthquake when your are inside (there rarely are).

Dahab is the place for Me i already live in a small city which focusses on tourists and diving the great abrrier reef, night clubs, bars, pubs etc and backpackers.

i need clean water, good coaches and somewhere quiet to relax so dahab it is! would love to do 2 weeks but only have enough time for 10days in Dahab and 10days in Crete. 3 weeks holiday is all i can get away with frommy bussiness.

Apnea Acadamy sounds interesting but not really interested in any more courses (have had my fill for this year, 4 to date) so personal coaching i think will be more beneficiall.
