Can someone please clarify something for me?
When one does that diaphragm stretch with maximal exhale in hunched-over position, then sitting up, how does forcing the belly out actually help this further? Is the diaphragm not drawn down towards its resting state, thus negating its stretch but perhaps stretching the empty lungs more? It does obviously feel harder I'd just like a more physiologic explanation please should they be thought of as 2 different stretches?
Also, are there any guidelines to the progression of thess stretches? I've heard from 3 reps to 5 reps per day, working to 30 second holds...
Thanks!
