diff categories..

im new to freediving, however i have been intrested in it for a while, and i am confused about the different categories..

I understand what dynamic is, and Static is, and out of water static..


but my question is what is ballast? and uncontrolled ballast? and all the other ballasts

someone please answer this so i dont embarass myself some day in public rather than right now on line
