What certification would you want to take? and can you explain why you choose it

Hi guys, I am a greenhorn on freediving and would like to know your thoughts and opinions on whats the difference between AIDA and RAID certifications, on where each would be useful/advantage in certain situation or occasion or the strong points between the two.

My goal would be taking either of the 2 by next year at level 1 but I am a bit confused between the two. Thank you so much.

Look at your instructor, not the agency.

The quality of your course depends on two people: Your instructor and you.

Talk to your potential instructors, read what they publish, and you will have an idea of what their courses will be like.

Do they talk about easy certifications? Big numbers on day one? Safety? Personal development? Learning? Fun and excitement? or introspection?

What are their backgrounds and experiences? Are they married to just one agency? is this a full-time gig for them? Why or why not?

Your learning begins before the course. Enjoy! :)

Give a call to the instructor running the course and have a chat with him about what to expect.

Freediving courses are really awesome - its more of training your technique and safety procedures. The safety procedures are invaluable.

I suggest if you take a course, bring a friend, so you two will be on the same page when you go out diving
