Hi all! I am looking for dive industry statistics/data. Any data will be appreciated. I already looked at PADI's Web site, but it's not enough. Does anybody have information? Thanx in advance.

Let's be more specific!

I need the following data:

I read it somewhere that it's a $500.000.000 industry, is it true?
How many certified divers are there in the world? What are their status (open water, advance open water and so on)?
How many of them are male and female?
Through which agency are they certified (by %)?
How many wholesellers and resellers are there in the world?

I know these questions are hard to answer. However, I want to try. Who knows, maybe somebody has information. Thanks!

Best,

Cem

CEM,

What r u looking 4 ???, specifically ?

US$ 500M is a simple figure................. anybody insured for US$ 1M x 500 divers already make up the figure.

There's a poll going on for what agency people think is the best, look it up, it might help u.

Ur question is a bit too "un-defined", where is it heading to & what r u trying 2 accomplish ? I'm just curious and not trying 2 be rude but I think it is something that u will never get a good answer................................ 4 ur questions . This is a open forum not an automated answering machine..........describe ur needs.

New business!

Hi IYA! Well, I've been in the telecom business for a while and my team and I plan to offer products to diving community. I already listed down the marketing channels to promote my business. I need those data to make better business decisions.

statistic

Hi CEM,

I guess u need to enter all available www of all dive agency and hopefully they carry all the data you need.

Try DAN too, they are well linked.

PADI alone certified a few million divers ( I think ) but remember that out of so many certified divers, plenty are not really active divers. Looking at a few reputable manufacturers of dive equipment, I am sure there are tons of cash flowing around.

It is easy to say that for every diver with their own basic gear less tanks is already US$ 700 a head in assets. US$ 500M a year should not be all that difficult if you include dive travels which actually are the biggest expenses in the long run for any divers.

What is ur product anyway....just curious.

IYA
