Dive Light Advice...

Last year I bought the SEAC-SUB SEARAY PLUS 50 BLACK torch from DiveInn (via Deeper Blue) and it was a great light. Unfortunately it flooded, but the store (graciously) is covering the damage under warranty. However, this light is no longer available and so DiveInn (aka Scubastore) is offering me a credit towards another light.

I have narrowed it down to three and was wondering if anyone had any insights into helping me make a decision. Here are the three lights:

1. VEGA 100 RECHARGEABLE

2. KOWALSKI 1250 2 STEP SWITCH

3. MARES PHOS 35

I will be using the light exclusively for freedivng (i.e., no scuba). Any comments would be appreciated.

scott, dont know any of those torches, and maybe you want more illumination, but i thought i'd mention the princeton 'rage' which i bought on aluns advice.(after flooding a pretty useless petzel).
this is smaller than a typical hand-held torch, but the advantage of it is that it can be clipped on to a mask stap and goes unnoticed. also, the o-ring seel can be adjusted so that it comes on by itself at a particular depth, saving one the hassle of switching it on, and saving battery life as one often forgets to switch torches off upon surfacing. lifetime guarentee also, and all for about $20.
been using it for deep diving in a dark quarry and for looking into caves for fish and crayfish(lobster). does the job fine.

Thanks for the reply. I do have a smaller light that clips to my mask that works well, but I am now spoiled by a 50W bulb (really lights up the spring caves and caverns).

Plus I only have a credit with the store and so I need to "spend" it on a similar priced light.
