Yeah, about the time I posted it, I realized that it could be misinterpreted.

Too bad they weren't Irish -- would have been funnier and no one could misinterpret my intent given my Irish surname.

If it's any consolation, they were feeding the pike cheap Russian champagne, so it was kind of an international effort;).

Heh. Yeah I was just commenting on the irony of it being in Poland. ...no offense to those of Polish persausion out there. ;)
It just amazes me how utterly sensless people get when they get some spirits in their bodies. I mean come on, who came up with this idea anyway? "Hey man let's catch a fish and see if we can get it drunk." ....Human beings. We're so ignorant sometimes. :head
The Irish would be funny too...hey wait a minute...I've got an Irish surname. The next headline will be me and Pezman "watering" the fish.:D

Not to put a damper on what appears to be a joke but doesn't alcohol kill fish? A guy I know once told me that instead of batting the hell out of an Ono's head, they would pour a little bit of Jack into it's gills. This would kill the fish almost instantly. First time I have heard of this, can't say how much fishing experience this guy had, but he was my doctor until he moved back to the mainland US.

That explains why:

1. He would burn the poor thing's lungs instead of killing it instantly - the doctors would only make it more painfull if they have a chance.

2. He wastes perfectly good Jack for the purpose - doesn't that prove the fact that they are overpaid!?

3. You are still alive and in one piece - he moved before he was able to experiment such techniques with you!

:D

Should I be offended right now? Not really sure so I won't. Besides, my question was does alcohol kill fish. Everybody knows that smashing a skull will kill almost anything.

Of course you shouldn't be offended, Brad! Even your doctor shouldn't be offended. :)
I just tried found it funny why your doctor thinks that burning the gills of a fish with alcohol (the effect of this should be almost similar to the one of soaking human's lungs with alcohol - painfull and not really instant death) would put a faster end of its pain.
Never meant to offend you! :)

The fastest way always was sticking a sharp dagger up under gills caps and poking the fish in the brain. That really makes the death instant...

Cheers!
