Hello everyone,
I am new here, so I am sorry if this is the wrong forum but I hope you can help me!
A friend and I (both AOWD), are planning a dive vacation and are thinking about Thailand, specifically the islands in the Andaman Sea.
Unfortunately, as much as I love diving, my stomach dislikes boats. I have tried all the medications, I follow all the recommendations, tipps and tricks, but longer boat rides are still no fun.
So I wanted to ask if anyone can give me more information about the dive spots there?
Are at least some of them reachable in about 30min? Are there dive centers who return to shore in between dives? Or -dare I dream- shore dives?
Thank you!

Hi
While there is some limited shore diving in the Andaman I definitely wouldn't plan a dive trip around it. Phi Phi Island, Ao nang near Krabi, Ko lipe in the south and Ko lanta all have good sites reachable by short boat trips. Of these I'd say Phi Phi and Lipe have the greatest range of sites within short distances. Also, I don't know where you've been diving before, but depending on the time of year the Andaman sea can be absolutely flat calm.

Some shops will do 1 tank dives from longtail boats but because of economics, fuel costs etc, most prefer to do two tank dives.
