Diving Koh Samui

Hello,just new here.I wll be travelling to Koh Samui and islands around.If there is something a should not miss diving overthere please let me know.I will appreciate all kind of information and suggestions.I am a open water diver with not tto much experiance yet.Thanks Marcel(Spain)

You will find the better diving in the gulf of Thailand from Koh Tao, a couple of hours on the ferry away from Koh Samui. There are more dive resorts and schools than you can point a stick at, most offering the same price for fun dives and courses. Most dive schools have accommodation associated with them. I would say a trip to Sail Rock is well worth doing. It usually has great visibility, plenty of fish, and a really cool vertical swim through. Ask around at the dive schools to see who is making the day trip there from Koh Tao.
If you're over there I would suggest trying freediving with Apnea Total in Sairee on Koh Tao. Monica and Eusebio are fantastic and will get you diving deeper than you thought possible. http://www.apnea-total.com
