DIY Boogie Board Float

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
So here we go...
I attached the net with cable binders and the backpack straps with 3 mm dyneema.
Not pretty and there's room for improvement.
I'll take it swiming as soon as i get warm again; I was out in 2 degrees water last night.
Questions and ideas for improvement are welcome.

Very nice work!!!!! I like it, and it should work great :).

In my opinion a float's gotta have a flag so that it's very obvious to any boaties what they can see on the surface, and they know to steer clear. Otherwise they may come in close to investigate!!!

Sorry! Forgot to mention: I've already ordered a flag - it just hasn't arrived yet.

Magpie I really like how your float line is kept and goes through the hole in the centre. This would make shortening up your float line really easy.

I simply have a couple of notches cut in the sides of my board and wrap my line around the entire board. Under neath in the centre I have a carribena to clip the line to once I've decided how short it needs to be.

This works ok.... but could be much tidyer, like yours. Nice work.:)

Thanks mate, yeh I was trying to work out a way of having the ability to vary the length but keep the spare line out of the water to reduce drag and still have the line coming from underneath the board as it rides the water better like that.

It works a treat, the key to it is the little bit of neoprene that the line runs through on the top, that keeps the line stored on the two winding hooks under tension so it doesn't come unravelled.

Nice job Soren :).

Here is mine the only thing left that I have to do is insert a small piece of 16mm band material and install the diver down flag.

Thanks it was less than $25 to build and less than 1 hour of time, but should be a great return on investment when in the water with a leg cramp, tired, or just going from the shore that has rough terrain.
