I've been practicing just with static sitting at rest. I purge once and then do a deep breath stating in the low belly then chest. Once my lungs are full I get dizzy and feel I'm going to blackout. After a moment the dizzies go away and I get a warm feeling in the chest and back then it's all good till the urge to breath starts and builds. I've tried a few packs and the initial dizzy feeling is intensified. Is this typical for a beginner, am I doing something wrong?

Be careful packing with no experience, you can cause damage to the ribcage and trachea or something...your ribcage has to be flexible to take in all the air, get Manual of Freediving book and do some training they recommend to get flexibility and understand risks. Go slow, good luck
