Hey there!
I'm a newcomer. I actually just registered.
I've been practicing DNF apnea for about 3 months now, and I really enjoy it!
Over the past 3 months, I've improved from 25 meters to 100 meters. Since I don’t really know any freedivers, either in real life or online, I don’t have much to compare my progress with.

So, I just wanted to ask:
What are the main thresholds in DNF apnea?
For example, what distances would you consider typical for a beginner, semi intermediate, intermediate, and professional?

P.S.
I swim without any suit, but I’m thinking about getting one. How would that affect my drag in the water? Would it increase my total distance? If yes, by approximately how much in percentage?

Thanks!

100 meters is a solid semi intermediate level. Especially after only 3 months. A well fit smooth/sleek wet suit should improve your hydrodynamics and give you more distance. Of course your technique is also important. You should not be doing any of this alone, you could black out and die.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don’t really have a partner, but the lifeguards at my local pool are aware of what I’m doing and they keep an eye on me. What distance would be considered an intermediate level?
