Hi everyone I live on Portland England, and could tell me if some fish migrate for winter I've been out three weeks in a row now and not seen anything worth eating ! Is it just me or have they gone on holiday?

Yes many fish go out into deep water over winter, a few stay around like flounder.
Cod actually come inshore during the winter but generally things go very quiet from December until April.
If you get a calm spell then scallops are a good bet...

it is same here in British Columbia. In winter months water gets cold and crystal clear/beautiful, but devoid of fish :( . Have to wait till it gets warmer and murky with devastating tide currents. Then there will be nothing but fish. Some awesome fishing around shoulder seasons, April/May or in the fall up till end of November, then it switches off just like that.
