I just got curious, whether there's a difference between "full lung" blackouts and "empty lung" ones - or do you get the same symptoms ?
I'm asking cause I'm a bit worried that if I pass out I'll automaticly suck water in...:( does anybody have experience with this ?

That is something I have asked myself as well. Once someone held me under when I had completely empty lungs. (This didn't happen during freediving training!!!) I tried to escape, then gave up and tried to breathe, but fortunately the laryngospasm stopped any water from getting in. When I did manage to escape, it released so I could breathe immediately without any trouble.

I don't do empty lung training for several reasons including this one, but many people seem to find it useful.

Actually that reminds me of a question I was supposed to ask here but forgot.

I heard from one doctor that only about 60% of people ever even develop the laryngospasm. That's pretty scary considering...

I have been "lucky" enough to verify that I do that when I black out.

Does anyone have any reliable info on that?
