If this is the wrong place to do this, then I'm sorry.

I'm really not here to advertise, rather get some advice from the local spearo community.

As I said previously, just opened a new shop in Wimborne, and we are dealers for
cressi,
omer,
Driff / foldspear /scubastick,
Esclapez
Immersion
Sportasub

Now, as much as I'd love to be able to stock the shop like the arc (2 of everything), it's just not gonna happen, a dive shop can't exist like that in this current climate.

So, my question is.
What would you like to see realistically in a shop.
How likely are you to just buy online? And what if you need to wait for us to order it in?

If I may drop in my 2 cents of advice, don't forget to offer those minor spare parts that need to be often replaced, such as: spearline (be it dyneema, monoline or braided chord), spare bands for guns (or bulk rubber to cut to measure), shafts and speartips, neoprene glue for wetsuit repair. The minute useful stuff.

I used to shop in a local store that was very good on major gear like guns, fins and suits. But when I only needed to replace the bands of my Comanche 60, for example, no hope to find them there. If I bent the 125mm shaft for my Omer 86, no way to find the replacement there. I had to buy online, and ended up to buy almost everything online. And the local store lost a customer.

Im sure all the local and not so local spearos would rather give there money to a local face /business n get their hands on stuff .see it before buying it picking up info n tips on the way and save pnp from another country off the intnet.

Agree with spag on this one, bits and bobs will be really useful. Suits are another good thing, it's really important to get a good fit. Expensive stock mind. Good luck with it...

I would agree that the bits and bobs would be a very useful thing to stock. As a complete beginner to spearing walking into a local shop and browsing and asking for help will make it alot more simpler to get kitted up i feel.

I still havent been brave enough to rig my gun up yet!

O'three do stock a lot of cressi gear, but there is no local stockist for:

Omer,
Driff / foldspear /scubastick,
Esclapez
Immersion
Sporasub

So guns will always sell especially to the new spearo's, good hard wearing gloves and socks will also always sell especially kevlar ones as they last a lot longer.

I have recently bought some gear from Westside spearfishing in Hawaii because we can not get the same quality as the gear they have over their!

I know o'three are very active in the area for the spearos, I know a few of the lads there and have one of their drysuits.... So I'm not trying to stand on their toes at all- they are 30 or so miles away....

I wasn't saying that - hey if you were to stock the same goods it would be a good bit of competition for them... Which would only see prices fall so myself as a potential purchaser could only be happy with that!
