I've got the alga blades in medium and i was also concerned that they were too soft. After extensive use though i've really come round. I dive from a boat and shore dive in equal measures and find this blade a great all-rounder.

I've just edited a bit out of the previous post as it was too close to a personal attack on another DB member.

I've been following this exchange of views and have found it quite informative and an interesting difference of opinion. Personally I found some value in both sides of the arguement and I am not just saying that to "sit on the fence". Now, however, I think it has run its course and you have both made your point.

This would be a good point to stop and let what you've both said be read by people who can then make up their own mind. This is not an order or a command and if you wish to continue you can do so provided you stay with in the rules. Main rule, no abuse, name calling or slurs on or about other DB members. Otherwise :martial .

You can get one from Spearo Dave (just dave on the forum) but he’s a busy man as he’s got more than just the spearo stuff on the go so on the odd occasion there may be a bit of a wait, having said that he’ll get there in the end.

He's also on holiday until the 15th ( as posted on his site ) . the elios suits take a while to get made anyway but are well worth the wait

Hi Ricky,we had a great day 13 fishes shot 7 mullet (big) and 6 bass the bigger from Paul weighted 7.5lb and 6.5lb I had a 5lb monster mullet and unfortunately my worst performance of the year as I didnt have a sleep the night before and I end up sleeping for 2 hours in the boat.paul seid to me that I have to bring a pillow next time . But he didnt know that I just gave him a chance to pair the catches with me as he been in trouble loosing his time with the camera rofl.

Had some really frustrating dives recently missing the biggest bass I have ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes on, losing Mullet off the end of my spear - the wriggly buggers and generally being a sh$t shot!

Went in again today as I had a meeting cancelled and it was the same story all over again! :head

Until I realised I was lining up the fish over the top of the spear and not aiming down the side as I always had done before (school boy error!).

So I changed my aiming proceedure and ended up seeing and spearing my first golden grey hard to make out against a sandy bottom they seem to blend in. Didn't weigh it but it measured 43cm wish I would have done now after looking at the HOF for confirmation of recognition of the fish they don't seem to grow too big...

Still here it is...

On a bad not, tore the arse end about 5 inches worth in my jacket whilst taking it off :head - it's a clean tear but I have never had to do a repair so extensive before.

It's torn close to where you tuck it under your crotch to connect back onto itself around the arse area.

So any suggestions? Or shall I just take it to O'three to repair and do without spearing for now!?

O'Three did a good job on some tailoring for me mate. Although I did get 2 different quotes for the same job: on the initial enquiry I was quoted one price, and then when I went in with the suit, I was quoted almost half the original price - so I handed it straight over!

See if you can't arrange to get it done in a single morning, and then you can jump straight in the water afterwards for an afternoon dive.

Thanks for the offer very good of you, I will take pics later on when I go home and PM them to you.

Sure the big bass will come mate seeing as this is only my second proper season enjoying spearing, I am sure of that I just need to be patient and remember my correct aiming methods!

It might be quicker to spend a couple of years learning Italian and then ordering one yourself, direct from the Elios website!
