i remember him fishing a few yrs ago wearing army type webbing with leaves and stuff all over him.
Didn't look overly streamlined to me!!

Just hearing you lot talk makes me want to order that Elios suit right now, But just got my Fins4u waves algas in today. Off to proof test them tonight, Had some joy about the Portland harbour yesterday. Not made my mind up on the Location for tonight just yet though!!!

Next time you are up against a cautious fish make an effort not to look in it's direction. Even go so far and put your head down and look at the ground for a while. Don't be surprised when you lift your head that you have a fish trying to push you out the way to see what you are looking at. This is a very relaxing move and the fish also does not see the glaring whites of your eyes while you are trying to stick a spear into it. This works like a charm on South African Muscle Cracker, New Zealand Snapper and many other spooky fish. You can also add English Sea Bass to the list.

I've been working on this but still can't quite resist the urge to peek, yet. I've just bought a mask with mirrored lenses, so maybe this might help a bit.

I came within a few inches of the biggest bass I've ever encountered, a couple of months ago, whilst I was looking the other way - although this was by accident, rather than design (story here: http://forums.deeperblue.com/dorset/85243-dorset-spear-fishing-2010-a-59.html#post813776 ).

They seem to do it a lot in this particular area, if you act like a log - but inevitably I end up peeking at them and then end up shooting at a fish that has decided he no longer wants to be around.

I do know of a guy who doesn't actually look at fish when he shoots them (but uses his peripheral vision - presumably).

Hahahaha thats funny mate for me happened totally the opposite left home the new picasso wetsuit yack) and went back with my old elios and I've got 2 bass and a mullet the bigger bass weighted 8.69lb. But do you really think is the gear that makes the difference?

thanks for advise bud aspetto usualy works fine with me, technique of the diver is the key to catches, how relax you are or how quickly dive reflex kick in water is important.

i cannot promise to use yellow and pink mayby the bass will like it bud i will go mental.rofl. no ofence

You could shoot fish in a yellow and pink wetsuit. Frame of mind and behaviour in the water is what makes fish come in or stay away. No matter how well we think we are camouflaged the fish all know that we are there.

Question - what colour do you see from under the water when you look up?

Ive seen a few foreign combat swimmers that wear a nice marine green wetsuit, works well from above surface looking down,!!!! Had a great dive in my new waves algas (Hard) Last night, didnt help with the 6lb Bass i missed and the Big old Lobster stuck in his hole. But good to get wet!!!!

Not sure about online but if you have an Iphone or Ipad download Tides Plan 10. The paid for version has a very good tide prediction function and it also shows stream/currents for chosen areas.

not sure about your choice of mask tho lol! the buddy diving issue is probably not relevant, but i have always figured that with the mirrored lens each time you move your head the mirror is changed, so the fish will see the movement even more (just my theory anyway).
let us know how you get on with it... if theres a noticeable difference to you or the fish.

I bought it more for hiding my eyes, than anything else - bass really don't like being looked at. Both Chris Reynolds and Tony Iannu use one, and they seem very happy with them (although I guess a mask can also have the appearance of a set of large bug-eyes).

The viz wasn't at it's best yesterday, so I sort of expected this. I'll maybe keep it for good viz conditions (or maybe I'll sell it - interested?)

dont sell it you clown, get used to it. it is a bit weird at first, especially with the amber tint but you'll be glad when that 8lb bass hiding in the shadows suddenly has an outline.

Its a slightly different version to yours, and the amber tint doesn't quite reach into all the corners, so that it 'bleeds' blue into the edges of your vision, which is quite off-putting.

I will persevere with it, but will wait until the viz improves before I start using it again.

Obviously silver wont hide you in the weed but for any situation when you are above your prey & especially as a silhouette, then silver has to be the best camo?
My mates used to call me "Silver smoker" because I use to smoke (gun slang) so many bass while wearing a silver foil (survival blanket) oversuit!

Obviously silver wont hide you in the weed but for any situation when you are above your prey & especially as a silhouette, then silver has to be the best camo?
