I was in around that area a couple of times last week, and I can confirm that there are still bass and mullet about (as well as some decent viz).

I should have gone to Ringstead!
Had 2 dives over sunday and monday; first at chesil cove and the second in the fleet.
First dive in for 3 hours around the shallows towards the bill then finished up on the pipe on the very end diving at around 7 meters. viz was not spectacular at around 3-4 meters with a distinct 'milky' tint. Anyhow ended up with just one pollack and a lone mullet both around the 2lb mark.
Today dived the fleet, got numb hands and feet vis was 1 meter max so got out after 10 mins with nothing to show.
All gear now cleaned up oiled and away for the winter.
Well maybe just one more dive

On the subject of Ringstead:
I've speared here on several occasions with no joy; only seen small wrasswe on the reef.
I have explored the shoreline reef to the left of the caravan park and around the breakwater by the boats, I have also explored the edge of the reef/drop off at the other end of the beach towards osmington mills opposite the beach hut, but never seem to see any fish!!!!
Can someone please give me some advice/pointers to whereabouts to hunt and maybe tides. PM me if you prefer.

It's unlikely that anyone is going to give you specific areas or holes to look in (certainly not on the open forum, anyway). And I could picture them wincing, at home on the sofa, if they were to read you inadvertently describing one of their 'hot spots' in detail too. I don't mind pointing people in the direction of good viz, or a general area where I have seen fish (especially at this time of year), as I realize how frustrating it can be to make a long journey only to be met with dissapointment.

I’ve had a few Bass out from Ringstead but I’ve had a fair few more just along at White Nothe
Ringstead is one of those places that for me is either a total waste of time or something like the A31 with bass/mullet blasting about. Never see them resting up at low but generally find them out and about hunting in 2's or 3's on the rise and fall. Remember the sandy areas are good for flatties, you've just got to find em!! 1 in 3 visits to Ringstead generally bears some fruit for me. Its a big ol reef and i'm sure you'll hit the jack pot there if you put the time in

Got in today at lulworth and it was a very chilly 8 degrees, vis at 2-4m varying and milky.
But most importantly no silver fish seen at all (at high tide), saw one large Wrasse when I first got in and that was that for the dive stayed in 1 and 1/2 hours but no joy.
I think the cold snap has forced all the bass & mullet south for the winter, so flatty fishing for maybe one more dive this season me thinks then time to do some repairs and tinkering...

Same here Tunny gear almost all packed away, just need to put boat into hybernation, so still a chance I could get one last session in, especially after seeing Paul M's lovely bass:t, nice work by the way Paul.

Had a lovely swim on Sunday with a few of the Dorset Mafia, early start and a right nasty drive down in the freezing fog.
Beautiful morning though when I finally got there, fell in the sea after the usual nonsense and finned out, started off great gliding down to 6 meters with ease, a few dives down to 6.8 and on down to 7 meters and it felt real good, not to cold and now with the sun on my back while breathing up, all was well in the world. Started to find the odd edible morsel from 7.5 meters and then from nowhere my right ear gave up on me and that was that. Try as I might I just couldn’t clear it and so finned back in, funny thing is as soon as I stood up on the beach I cleared it with no problem at all, still I guess that just how it goes.
Lovely cup of coffee and toast down at the Ferry Bridge with Bryn after and on my way home it was.
There where a few pictures taken and it would be nice to have one of the group shots put up by who’s ever phone they ended up on.
