That's easy, find a nice clear area to descend on, when you're nearly there the 'area' moves because it's a ruddy great stingray.
Fining backwards comes instantly, worked for me a treat.

Sorry for the no show Podge me lord! Things are a little busy here at the moment but no doubt a crimble dive is on the cards?!
Hey Podge, have you tried Doc's Proplugs? I have used them a few times after getting over the effects of an ear infection & they are really good. There is no effort in trying to equalise as I had found earlier this year, funnily enough with my right ear also. There are about 3 or 4 sizes, so to fit all jug ear types. You can get them with a nylon leash so you don't lose them as I had done so with an ealier set. Anyway check out the link below for info, but I got mine from Magic Seaweed, which seemed the cheeper compared with other websites.

Well you do have a pretty good excuse there at the moment, get yourself down to the local Pine shop and just pick one out mate, it’ll save doing all those sums with a tape measure in one hand and a bloody great hammer in the other.:martialrofl

I did give the old Pro Plugs a try a little while back but found them a little uncomfortable, that and you also can’t hear as much which I’m sure you’d get used to after a while.
I’ve still got them in my dive bag so I’ll give them another go and try to perceiver with it a bit.

I've just witnessed something that adds new meaning to the words 'fast' and 'food' - especially for anyone who likes crab.
I'm working abroad at the moment, on a boat in the Persian Gulf, and one of the Philipino divers who works with me scooped a swimming crab out of the water today (not unlike our own velvet swimming crabs), went straight down to the galley, popped it in a bowl, poured a can of Sprite over it, popped it in the microwave, waited until it turned red, and then devoured it like a cornish pasty (well, almost: he did spit most of the shell back out - but then I've often been tempted to do that myself, with some of the cornish pasties I've eaten over the years). From catching the crab to finishing off the final morsel took less than fifteen minutes (probably closer to ten!).
Now I'm not advocating cooking live crabs in the microwave, because when I peered in through the glass at this one he looked as though he was having quite a bad day out, but it's interesting that the meat did come out looking and smelling pretty good. And that thing about boiling in Sprite was interesting too (maybe even genius): this guy said it is by far the best way to cook a crab (apparently 7 Up works almost as well), and it works for lobster too - just add butter afterwards.
So there you go, if you fancy experimenting with your crabs next time why not try the fizzy drink option. I'm not sure what the boiling point of a pan of Sprite is, but this method might just be worth a try - and it saves having to cart bottles of sea water home with you to cook your crustacea .

Took the drive down to Dorset today - although getting out of a warm bed this morning was hard. I really enjoyed getting in, the water temp was ok - bit cold on the hands after an hour, the sun being out helped. The sea was pretty clear might even be the best i have seen this year. Theres a few bait fish about still but i didnt see any small Wrasse, no Mullet or Bass spotted, not as much weed left either.

Anybody up for a dive someday soon? I really fancy going in and school (work) finishes on Friday so any day after that would be great. I know there's not much out there at the mo, but I haven't been in the water for many many weeks.
