If you're talking about the one close to shore then yes mate that's where we were...
Just got back from chapmans. Vis was 1-2 meters at best. stayed in for an hour, no fish seen.
also went in whilst in n devon at the weekend - combe martin, vis was better at about 3 meters loads of fat wrasse, but no silver fish.

Try posting on the Cornwall & the Devon as well thread, I know at least one has the Go-pro there.
Not at all sir, it was 7 kicks of the finns left from the largest rock on the top end of the sand patch in a small bit of weed around 600 yards from the last boat on the right side of the ramp.
Never ever follow Podges directions. If you've ever been in a car with him you'll know what I mean :t

Had a go at a dawn raid this morning in West Dorset and picked up a lovely 4lb bass. Got in the water as the sun was rising (4:45am) and had a lovely peaceful time with viz of between 2 and 6m. Lovely.
One question for all you knowledgeable spearo types: Quite a few times I spotted decent fish several meters below me (too far to take a shot from above), including a lovely looking pair of bass of around 7 or 8lb. Trouble is, I don't really know how to approach fish that are directly below. I tried swimming down to them from an oblique angle, but by the time I got to them they had scarpered and didn't come back. Any ideas?

Got in for an hour around the east side of the Bill around the cranes, vis was pretty good at 4-5m in the deeper water, went as far out as I know is safe but I don't like working the tide unless I'm with someone else who knows the bill just incase. After spending a few years bass fishing in my yuuf I have massive respect for the race and what it can do if you under estimate it so I know that makes me a bit too cautious. It was dead low tide and no silver fish seen but plenty of pollock, sandeel and smelt. Loads of string weed close in but no sign of decent fish, there were a few pots set in close and a few brown crab caught but I didn't spot any legal size free to pick up. A few boats working the race so they're within spitting distance, but don't bother spitting unless you're very very sure of what you're doing.
Here's a handy website for getting at least a rough idea of viz before setting out to the coast, particularly if you're in the West Dorset / East Devon area.

Had a great day yesterday even though we got there a little late, John had a cracking Flaty, I'll post a picture later.
We had Mullet, Lobster and Sole.
Vis up at Mupe was pretty good but as you came back down it got worse, Durdle Door was pants and White Nothe wasn’t much better although it cleared up a bit in the deeper water.
Boats and jetskis….! I’ve never seen so many; at one point just in front of Durdle I counted 23 floating would be spearo killers.
Watch yourselves with this better weather chaps as THEY are out there!!

Dawn raid again this morning, in the water just before sunrise at 4.50am. In the water for just under 2 hours...result, 3 lovely bass! They were everywhere - at one point I was surrounded by a shoal of countless 3-5lb beauties, I just couldn't reload quick enough! Glad I managed to get my fix before the windy weather comes back tomorrow. 3 bass before work, can't be bad!
