We had Mullet, Lobster and Sole.
Vis up at Mupe was pretty good but as you came back down it got worse, Durdle Door was pants and White Nothe wasn’t much better although it cleared up a bit in the deeper water.
Boats and jetskis….! I’ve never seen so many; at one point just in front of Durdle I counted 23 floating would be spearo killers.
Watch yourselves with this better weather chaps as THEY are out there!!

Nice one Paul, see you lot on Saturday...although we might give the pleasure boaters a run for their money with all the spearo craft hitting town!
What did yo uever do with that boat mount harpoon!
P.S. Fatty flatty? What was it John boy?

ok mudeford quay, tide right out & now realise that viz is quite bad down there not being able to even see my fins. Did get told that if I get a salmon or trout I could get arrested?? was a nice swim tho water quite warm

hi i was in a convo the other week about this on the wessex spearfishing club thread . chrisreynolds very helpfully put up a link to a site on exclusion zones and protected species. worth a look. its page 6 on the thead.

Probably why we don’t shoot more fish, always messing about and never really trying to hard.

They were everywhere - at one point I was surrounded by a shoal of countless 3-5lb beauties, I just couldn't reload quick enough! Glad I managed to get my fix before the windy weather comes back tomorrow. 3 bass before work, can't be bad!

Had a dive yesterday along the purbecks, think I caught the last of the vis at 2-3m but cloudy. Managed a 1 1/2lb bass for my troubles, when I got out it was hoofing it down so had the long drive back in my wetsuit and was positively stinking when I got home!

Still another fish for my efforts...

This may sound a tad unbelievable but.............

I was out today in the harbour (portland) in about 3-4 meters of water over a sandy bottom with loads of ray carcases with wings cut of floating around. I spotted what at first looked like a huge TB ray hugging the bottom and gliding towards me. As the thing got closer I had a good 20 - 30 seconds look at the fish; and it was huge at least 4-5ft in length and definitely not a ray! but what I can only describe as an angel shark!!! I have dived with these back in march when in fueturventura. I have been searching the net all over and it can only be an angel shark??? obviously I didn't take a shot as I know that they are protected in other countries.

Do they even exist in the UK? well I guess they do.

Anyone else seen anything unusual in our waters??

They sure do exist! Have a look at my post in the uk section on squatina. The one I saw was in shallow water over on the west coast of wales. Great spot lee.
