Given the strong winds today, I'm going to try Lul C. today (if it looks OK from the beach). If anyone's going, see you there.

Whoa - I clearly have no idea! Lul C. was like a North Atlantic storm (OK, exaggeration but you get the picture). I figured it would be calm-ish but not at all! Oh well....another time.

Oh and the usual warning, if you are going to dive the Harbour make sure you’ve got a good size SMB and try not to get dozed over by the idiots in boats or the WAFI’s (wind assisted f**king idiots) on boards with kites or sails.

Another nice night dive last night with Spearolee and Nobby. Went in at a spot in Portland Harbour, found lots of flatties and picked out two of the larger flounders.

Picked up a nice bass too, a lucky find. I was swimming along near the bottom and just swam over it. A nice shot stoned it and I've got a tasty dinner tonight!

Great stuff Tom. I'm planning to be over Dorset/ Portland way tomorrow evening (maybe), Friday (definitely), Saturday morning (probably), on my way to N Devon for the weekend.

I've never been out in the Portland area, so if anyone's going fishing and doesn't mind a Sussex visitor tagging along...

vis not good out from Castle Cove, a mere 80cm dropping to 40cm at 5m but still a pleasant 14c and the sun was very welcome at the end of the dive...!

Hi if anyone finds a weight belt out at Ringstead, I lost mine there today. Float line tangled in the clasp and released it as I was ascending having just shot a Pollack. It fell in the kelp about 300 yards out in about 4 metres to the right of the ramp as you walk down to the beach.

Had a dive around durlston today, only 3m vis but still managed a fairly decent sized pollock.

Hi Wyvern, just a few Pollack, Bobandsausage had a Bass and a Pollack. I saw some good sized Pollack later but the spare belt Nick lent me didnt have enough weight on it to sink a lump like me. So I couldnt hold the bottom. Shame you couldnt make it. It was still a good day.

Got in early this morning with Speerolee. Two spots in Portland harbour - must be the only place with any viz right now! Saw a plaice but was too slow making the decision to take a shot.

Found a good size bass (weighed in at just under 4lb) hiding in some kelp. Lovely.

Nice bass and you did well to find vis and a bass - top result. I'm off work this week to spearfish before winter draws in - #b****yweather!!!

Tom, John is very proud of his woody and I can see why, if I had one like it I’d show it to everybody….rofl
