Well done all on the recent success.. as Matt said our dive Tue's was pretty fruitless, I saw what I assume is the same shoal of gold spot as Matt but wasn't as quick with an ID so ignored them thinking them too small. Only other thing worthy of note was a rather large conger in about 6-8m I looked in a crack for fish/lobsters etc only for the crack to reverse and a BIG eye appear, certainly made me jump, only saw a segment of him but would be 30lb easy I imagine, at least as fat as my thigh.
Back at work now so looking forward to getting in over the weekend, or maybe tomorrow night. Fingers crossed the vis isn't too spoilt.

No no sharks today. It wasn't quite the bill but not too far away either. Was a good dive still tho. I thaught I'd leave the conger story for you, and was waiting when you'd reveal it to everyone on here. Lol when you came up and told me about it I could still see the shock on your face.

Now the sun is out and the water is getting warmer every dive I do I seriously consider using the 3mm RA suit. Think the beginning of June I may give it to temptation and get it on

A very very quick dive at the cobb this morning; vis close in was 1 meter, but when out off the last arm vis was around 4m. Got myself a run of the mill mullet and a big spider crab and promptly jumped out and went back to the new holiday flat in Bradpole to cook it all up.

Oh got sunburned!!!!

Oh my word! you should have seen the babes on the beach!!! thong bikini!!! defo going back at the weekend. :t:t:t:t

That calls for your finest James bond impression. Remove the top half of wetsuit in the water. Roll down the bottoms a bit, then come out the water all tensed up :):):)

Just don't forget the big red mask mark you got before you approach themrofl

lmao.. I was telling Matt how I got chatted up by some girls on Tues morning dive, seems they had a fetish for rubber suits (and cider!) I may or may not of removed part of my suit earlier than planned and swam an extra 50m to get out at the right spot!

Foxfish, I know where a conger of an epic huge sizes lives as well, although that requires a boat. Been looking into a camera so when I get it sorted will see if I can find the spot again!

I think I must be doing something wrong, I only ever seem to get funny looks and girls running away from me. Especially when they catch me putting my gloves down the front of my wetsuit before emerging :o:o:o:o:o

I don't understand, it works in the Armani adverts, so why not on chesil beach?????

Lmao.. I see two issues, one the scary man feeling his own genitals as he gets out the sea covered in 'mullet slime' (more commonly known as man juice) the second being location, there are never hot women on Chesil.. just long haired fishermen!

Hahaha after the dive today's got back to the car and realised I had green stuff all over my nose and forehead, but i didn't notice it whilst getting out of the water in front of a large group of guys and girls (did wonder about the funny looks I was getting) so thinking it was snot I pulled it all off. Only to realise it was sunburnt soft skin so ended up with blood all down my nose instead.

mully at sun set

hi guys got in this evening with my keen young spearo mate chuckie.
chuckie was an old work mate of mine, the weekend boy in the shop. he come out a few times with me last season but aint been in since. armed with his new suit i made him b4 i left othree i picked him up to get in . he was eager for me to show him the ways of me and lees mully bashing. we get to the spot and get straight in. i tell chuckie to stick close so i can show him and for him to keep his eyes peeled with me saying that a nice 3lb mullet crosses my path. BOOM mully on the stringer. chucky at this point is real full of beans to hav a go so we press on, a few mins later chuckie fires but misses. then a 2nd bigg mullet comes chuck is lined up fires but misses again. chuck frustrated at this point as i hav shown him and explained the way lee hunt he just cant do it. there is a big swell rolling in ! chuck trys again on another mully BOOM !! its a mully on for chuck. at this point a massive wave throws me and chuck at the rocks chuck lands face first !!:blackeye instant fat lip!!! time to change tactics for chucks safteyrofl. i show chuck my methode rather than lees out comes my RA 90 DEAMON GUN! i spot a few pony mully duck down and wait for my shot. i spot a target and let her rip BOOM!!!! 5lb pony on the stringer! chuck does the same right next to me and wacks out a nice 3 lb mully to go with his other 1. i then giv chuck the deamon RA90 for him to hav a go , at this point it was like seeing my kids opening a christmas presant they really wanted! chuck goes on to get himself another 2 mullet of 3-4lb. well done chuck.

all in all was a good dive even tho i did stop at 2 fish.
even more happy for chuck as i taught him how to spear last summer and again tonight. it is really pleasing to see a spearo you have taught nail fish
hence the long write up . it gives me a good feeling for next year wen i take little 1 out for the first dive with his little speargun:).

anyway guys here is my catch 5lb and 3lb mully

Quick vis report:

Just came back from a dive in Portland harbour. Out far (8m) the Vis was around 3m. I saw one small flattie but left him for another day. Came in close and saw 2 bass but they shot off well before I could get close. Vis in close has dropped to 1.5m.

Water was a pleasant 14-15 degrees C. And was very enjoyable diving in 3mm bottoms and 5mm top

Had a dive yesterday evening at Osmington. Water temp was 13c and so comfortable I was in for 4 hours. Shot one Bass that got off! Saw the biggest Bass I have seen so far but couldnt get the gun on it quick enough and this was in less than two metres of water. Ended up with a couple of Pollack for my tea. Lovely dive while the sun went down.

First time spearfishing last night (between 8 and 9ish)at chesil cove. vis just a little under 2 meters. quite a few small fish but nothing worth getting. Overall went well. Bribed a couple of mates from work with beer to be spotters on the beach, but in hindsight should have given them the beer after i got out...not sure how much use they'd have been? But i survived for another day; soon hopefully.
