Bin around a bit and had a few nice bass, bream, pollock, mullet, flattys' Lobster and Brown Crab. Never enough diving but I have got some nice footage of a few dives just no time to edit and post, winter project when the work slows up a bit.
Some of you may have seen these pics but for those of you who haven't here are a few catches from this year.

Went out for a dive yesterday evening at a local spot with a friend who had never been spearfishing before.
Viz was surprisingly bad in the shallows - varying between 1m and around 3m. A few fish about. I shot a scad (for the smoker), and then Wil shouted "I got one!" and stood up with a scad on his spear too. He was very excited
Then we took a ray each, and then on the way back in I found this lovely big sole, which tipped the scales at 2lb 1oz.

Then we took a ray each, and then on the way back in I found this lovely big sole, which tipped the scales at 2lb 1oz.
Went out tonight with my brother tyeboy.
Went out in 6-7 meters diving over sand and reef put 2 fair sized pollack on my stringer and a nice 3lb sole and a pollack on tye's.
Headed back to the shoreline and had an aquarium full of bass; tons of 2lbers which we left and there were a fair few in the 3-5lb bracket I had 2 one just shy of 5lb and the over went 3.5lb also had a couple of mullet. Tye also had 3 bass biggest 3.5lb.
Usual stories with missing a monster bass; I missed one est 7-8lb swimming head on and below me, took a shot at the front of his head and it just glanced him. Tye missed 2; first was above a rock and swam off before he shot est 6lb and the other I saw too in 4 feet of water sat in a cave formation amongst gig boulders, this was the fish of the night and looked like a double, Tye was in position for the shot so I left it for him and he hesitated as not to shoot boulders at extreme close range, but that was the old donkey's excuse to zoom off at 100mph.

I got in for a last minute dive with nobby and will. Vis right in close was around 1m, but then it opened out to 4m over a shallow reef and then about 8m over sand. We got in and then Started swimming out, I see a bass coming my way, aim, shoot ....... And miss. Ok the session has just started so I'm not too phased. And then another small bass comes my way again, and shoots off just before I get a shot off. Then I see quite a few small sole on the sand, so I keep searching for a big one.... With no success. So I keep on. Then I see loads of tiny bass but decide to leave them to grow. Out of the corner of my eye I see something shuffling in the sand. I turn slowly and have a proper look and it's a red mullet of about 1lb, so I slowly sink to the bottom and creep towards the fish. Bringing the gun up the fish turned side on, perfect........ And miss. At this point I knew it wasn't going to be the best of dives for me tonight.
Without being too disheartened I carried on with the dive and was rewarded with 2 bass of about 2lb, a slightly bigger one of 2.87lb (after it had been gutted) and a lobster for my efforts. Overall a very enjoyable dive with lots seen including gurnard, pout, pollack, small eyed ray and many small bass. I'll let nobby and will share their experience with you all

Hi as my brother said had a great session last night bass and mullet everywhere. Had two good size bass a Pollack and a b.p. sole 3.1 oz, shoot the sole about 6m on the sand it got off my spear soo I swam after him and stabbed him again right on the end of my breath hold. Got on better last night as my nose does not allow me to dive deep usualy. Will post photos in asec and enter them for fish of the month and specci comp.

Just wondering if the Wessex club is running this year? Just realised ive not seen a thread running this year, or ive over looked it? I would like to try and head out with some more experienced guys, im still mostly flopping about on the surface and could do it upping my game a bit i think

Went out for a dive today with Joe (ickledevil). Jumped in the water to find crystal clear water with about 8-10m Vis, and the sun felt lovely on my back aswel. Now to the fishing.
After swimming over a mixed bottom of sand and rocks we arrived at the destination. There were a couple of mullet zooming past but not the bass i was after. So we continued on the journey. Then whilst I was looking one way and pointing my gun the other way, I turned around to see a big bass (8-10lb) swim right in front of me just a couple of meters away, I tried swinging the gun around but the fish was moving just a little too quick. By the time I swung the gun around it was swimming away from me, so in desperation I fired without properly aiming........ And missed
The swim continued. To cut a long story short I saw 8 bass that were all over 5lb but spooked/missed them all, with my spear even bouncing off the head of a beast from point blank range. But I managed to shoot 4 smaller bass around the 2.5lb mark. With most being head shots or gill plates. (need to learn to aim properly on big fish) but to end on a good note I eventually stumbled upon 2 hefty bass, I picked the closest one of the two and stoned it. This bass weighed 5.33lb in the end.
Overall an amazing dive with lots of big fish seen. Here are a couple of pics
