Why don't you guys go 'off limits' and try a sandy North Devon beach...it'll be like a holiday! Best I can come up with...

Its not a bad idea - Croyd might be one of the best bets. I try to find a webcam - very popular surfing spot...

Looks like the wind is staying easterly but dying right off towards the weekend.
So fingers crossed boys.
How about Bowleaze for a back up venue as its nice and easy with the chance of a flaty on the sand?
Any thoughts???

Sounds good Podge - anyone know what the vis is like there. Clive mentioned that Chesil cove (also west facing) was completely washed out by the swell even though the wind was easterly!!

It would be great if we can get some local knowledge before the long drive down:head

I will be on my way at 16:00 and I will check out Osmington, but I fear the worst......!

I am almost as excited as you guys - cant wait to find out how it all pans out?
Good luck to all you determined mad rascals. rofl

Well erm, um there is a big swell coming in, but because of the light couldn't really see into the water and didn't fancy climbing down the cliff in my work clothes! But I could just about see the edge of the reef and the start of the sand - so not as bad as I thought..

The wind looks like it is settling down and we will be fine - fingers crossed... I'm in Weymouth Friday for our unofficial works Christmas do, so I will wander over to the Pavilion and have a look... I will TXT you Paul, because after 4 hours I won't remember a thing :friday

The swell has been with us for a while now so unless the swell dies down we'll be stuffed.Even Portland Harbour was rough on sunday but the harbour or the fleet would offer the best chance of vis.The fleet is a conservation area though i think,so not too sure if guns are a good idea but getting wet might be nice.

John (Flyflicker) that would be just the job mate, I’ll wait for your text before I phone Jim with the good news.:)
John (Glowworm) the Fleet is a Bass nursery and as far as I know it’s NOT a no take zone for any other species i.e. Flat Fish or Shell fish, if there were any in there which of course there aren’t…rofl
As for the Harbour your dead right mate it was chocolate on Sunday when I was there with the Family and the Dorset Apple Cake.:p
But you never know come this Sunday all might be well, stranger things have happened.;)
Whatever the conditions I’m coming down to get wet even if its just for the sake of it after all its Christmas don’t you know!!:friday
See you all somewhere on Sunday.:D:D

Can you let us know on Friday what the conditions are like - maybe an update on DB - hopefully see you all Sunday.

Wind is forecast to turn Westerly on Saturday and South Westerly on Sunday.
It’ll all be fine for Sunday all it needs is a few positive waves Moriarty.:)
Could be ok for the Harbour after all? Or even Weymouth Beach?

Updates to follow.

See there you go again with them negative waves, it’s a mother beautiful wind and its going to calm down.
All said while eating cheese and drinking wine.roflrofl
