I'm hoping to be out Friday night. Was going to go out tonight, but looks like there's no (or very limited viz). Grr. Would have thought a week of North Easterlies would have cleared it all up, but no such luck.

Whoop whoop, just ordered my new suit. Cressi Technica 5mm, should knock the socks off my old 3mm all in one cheapy. Big question is how long is it worth waiting before planning a weekend trip from land locked Leicester??
As you may be able to tell im a tad impatient...

As you can see, the viz is rather sh1t at the moment. Might be best to wait until you see a few positive reports on here and then make the journey. If you need a dive buddy just let me know, it's always nice to meet another spearo.

Cheers, thanks for the offer Although please be warned I am a complete novice having only started last year.

Been keeping an eye on things and yeh viz looks pants! Realistically it wont be until after Easter as my mate and I usually camp and would be a tad chilly in tents!

Thanks for the report. I did wonder about venturing out yesterday but glad I decided not to.

Yep, was a long drive (thanks Alan) for no reward whatsoever. We checked loads of spots (including the usual failsafe backups) and the very best viz we found was around 0.5-1m.

Can anyone explain why after more than a week of northern winds there are still waves with oposit direction??? Does it have something with currents/tides??? I'd like to know a bit more how to predict sea conditions...

It's called groundswell - waves generated out in the Atlantic that have nothing to do with local wind conditions.
