- anyone living in a house near the cliffs on that coastline must be ****ing themselves because that is a huge landslip - might have to go have a look this weekend if the wind stays down.
I forgot to say last weekend there was 2 gill nets - 1 at osmington by the wreck that was quite well marked the other was going towards ringstead was poorly marked a boat could easily get caught out
Hmm its not sounding good on the vis front was hoping for better by the weekend with this spell of calmer weather
As joe said the dive last night was hard work. I nearly got speared in the face by a decent garfish of around 1lb. I saw a line cuttlefish and tool him for the pot. After joe went I stayed in for another hour and came back with 2 bass around the 3lb mark and the cuttlefish.
Gave a bass to my nan and she kindly cooked me a huge mixed grill before work.

Went in the cove at about 2 today the viz was only about 1.5 metresflat calm and temp about 8 seen no fish !
Cheers mate. I was thinking of going tonight but if its just 1.5m i wouldn't bother as i don't know that spot so well and I've got few miles to go from Poole.
I drove past Poole Bay about 18.30 & the viz looked good, this was the north side around Shore Road, East Dorset Sailing club, jetty/pier area.

Sorry in advance if you see this posted on various threads.
I have not been diving in the UK for a while but want to get back into the water in the UK and I have a few days off work from 17th of May to 23rd and was looking to do some spearfishing on the South coast (poss Dorset or Cornwall). I used to be in the LIC and have just rejoined. I would like to be diving with a buddy. I have wheels and a 3.2m inflatable that should plane well (It's new so I am hoping) with a 10hp on the back so don't mind driving to wherever if the diving is worth it. I am reasonably competent and like bass so if anyone has some spare time during the above dates and wants to go hunting then please let me know.

Dive last with alan, vis was terrible. ...0-1m
But carried on regardless:
2 bass abd a couple of large mullet. Biggest bass 6lb 7oz, pleased with that as I first underestimated it by at least a 1lb.
Can't seem to post pics; says exeeded limit. ....went back and deleted old pics..but still can't upload.
Deleted almost all my previous pics from the forum. ..but still unable to upload another.......grrrrr

I'm down this weekend and looking for a dive buddy for a Saturday dive (I'm sorted for Sunday). Anyone fancy some company and a buddy who won't dent your quota

Just got back from a late night adventure. Went to a place east of weymouth (totally forgot about the recent landslide) Vis started out ok at around 2-3m but quickly dropped between 0-0.5m with the flooding tide. The water felt cold and was around 8°C. At first there were a few tiny eels, loads of small pollack around the 1lb mark a few smelt and a couple of small black bream.
Kicking on through the decreasing murk, we eventually saw some bigger fish. There was a solitary sea trout swimming around which was nice to watch before it disappeared into the darkness. We also saw a couple of mullet which ended up on the stringers. And my dive buddy got his first squid, matched with his first silver if this year so happy for him.
It was a shame the Vis put an end to our dive, as it was getting worse by the minute. Still nice to get out and come home with a fish. Just a shame about the lack of bass
