Whatever its welcome! Anytime after September the 7th is fine for me and there is a spare house for everybody to stay.

My poor bathroom suite!:friday

Well I gotta admit meeting up around the bill makes sense, and it may be worth ironing out the details of the club over a beer or two. What does everyone thing about a meet up in September with a dive, BBQ to follow, then we can all discuss/slur over some beers about the philosophy of the Spearin club?

Guess if people start posting dates they can make on a weekend we could start getting something organised. Does anyone have access to long range weather forcasts?

Cheers,

SD

Other things which could be considered:

Max of two fish per species per dive?
Don't fish for the freezer (unless you only get to dive infrequently).

That is spot on 1 Shot, pretty much my philosophy when I spear. I don't have a freezer so only catch enough for that evenings BBQ or meal. Much more fun being selective when you see Bass as well. Means you come out empty handed some days, but then to be honest, for me, and I'm sure for many others on this site, Its not always about the kill, but getting in the water, relaxing and having fun!

As long as i get a week or so notice i'm good anytime.

Good to see so many replies:) The weekend of the 16th-17th September seems to be a fair date with a dive and BBQ afterwards to meet up and discuss what we all want the club to do and acheive.Portland Bill is a nice easy spot but we could change this if the weather dictates.Any other ideas please post them:) :)

New plans for sunday as i,ve had technical problems so couldn,t post anything.Due to the time of year and the weather not being reliable i suggest meeting in Portland Bill car park @ 12.00 noon and then having a beer in the Pulpit Inn afterwards for discussions on future events. If the weather is bad we can see if anywhere locally provides any shelter for a dive and a pub also.I know this isn't the BBQ i mentioned but hopefully this will do.

Hope to see some of you on sunday.

Jim and myself are going for a dip somewhere first but will meet you all there at 12.00 noon.

Nice to see all those who turned up..The overiding feeling regarding the club was as follows.....

NO CLUB JUST FRIENDS AND GOOD DIVING...:) :) :friday :friday

A new Dorset club is a great idea as it increases the local support and info sharing locally .With regard to the threats to our sport a strong national association is the only way to really get your voice heard. So join the BSA and gain the benefits of insurance and a strong national voice.
Best regards
Mike Bradshaw President BSA
