I want to know if there any danger to do dry static apnea alone with a nose clip. It easyer for me to hold my breath with a nose clip on when doing dry apnea. But if I black out when I keep my mouth shut, did my mouth will reopen to let the air enter?

Thanks
Nicolas

never really thought about it - I do it. You can always breathe in through your mouth so not sure why it would be dangerous

Only problem I have is that I have a Paradisia nose clip and its really irritating on a dry nose!

Sorry to preach, but shouldn't really do even dry apnea on your own. A buddy there to give AV and CPR might be useful.

Why not pull off the noseclip in the last minute?

Nicolas,
I believe opening the mouth is part of the breathing response that gets invoked when you’re unconscious and your mouth is clear of the water. You should be find doing dry statics with a nose clips. I hate doing them without mine.

Ben,
Quick question... You said that one should have a buddy for dry statics? Do you mind elaborating a bit more on that? I do all my dry statics without a buddy/spotter, and I've always thought I was perfectly safe. If I'm missing something I'd like to know!

Thanks,
Aaron

I was also training with a nose clip alone, but now to be on the safe side, I only try to break personal bests with someone watching me.
During the week when I have no one with me I keep my trials to about 80 to 85% of my pb.
