ear wont click/equalizing

hey guys,

gotta a small problem atm, went diving a few days ago and thought i had hayfever but i didnt have any problems equalizing at this time. did a couple of shallow dives to 4m and all felt good. However i did a dive to 6m and i had this really bad pain over one of my rear molar teeth. got to the surface pain disappeared. Called it a day and now my right ear wont click, havent got any hearing problems, not in any pain just cant pop it. starting to suspect the reason might be caused by a head cold that i have atm and there could be mucus stuck in the tube (mucus is colored). on another note my left ear is still equalizing fine.

if you just had a congestion it's normal that you have dry mucus in your ear and sinuses.
the tooth pain most likely comes from the maxillary sinus (even if it really feels like the pain is in the tooth!), and the fact that you can't equalize now makes me think that with your dives you pushed around this mucus until it got stuck somewhere. doesn't have to be both ears; in fact most often you would only have one ear stuck.
still, strange that after few days you still can't equalize

breathe steam few times a day. it might help enormously, especially if you live in a dry climate. you can also wash your "sinuses" with physiological solution.

I had a problem once equalizing because an infected tooth had grown a polyp on the root about the size of a blueberry that was pressing on my sinus and preventing equalizing I had that tooth yanked out. don't know if thats your problem or not

hey guys

just letting you know that the blocked ear problem was resolved turns out it was a bit congestion in my tube. just gave it a few days rest and pumped about 10 litres of saline spray into my sinuses and it finally moved hahaha on another note i have found that regular use of saline spray has helped my ears equalise easier.
