Hi guys,

Thinking ahead to next season, I'm really interested in getting out to the fabled Eddystone lighthouse next year. I was gonna try and charter a boat, which would obviously be quite pricey and wondered if any of the Dorset crew would be interested coming along, splitting the charter cost and spearing some bass (hopefully!)

Just in very tentative planning stages at the moment but it'd be good to get an idea of whether anyone would be up for it?

Cheers

Ricky speak to Janner. His dad runs one of the biggest and best charter angling boats in the Uk and is based down your way. Janner is a rather good spearo and his dad's a nice bloke too. They might not be interested but they may know someone who is. It would be a start anyway.

I'll be interested, and I probably know a well known west country personality who might be ;->

Brilliant guys - I'll start making enquiries and then we can throw some dates about. Thanks for the heads up Dave, I'll PM you Ian! :)

here's a tip - be AT the lighthouse by 5am....thats when the fish are there - and any later and the Crawfords will beat you out there :)

This is a local boat for local spearo’s we’ll have no trouble here.:):):)
It’ll be good to meet you Scott.

All cool chaps - thanks for the PM Ian - I'll give your dad a beel as soon as I've got a moment.

I've had an interesting PM on this saying we need to be careful not to 'lose the magic' of the trip by too many in the water. Apparently it's v. popular with scuba and other spearos, so a bit of careful planning might be needed. I'm going to make a few calls re: best time of year, best method of approach and best time to avoid others and generally get a bit more info on it all, but it's really nice to see so much interest.

I was thinking early June sometime, but like I said, I know f**k all about it, so I'll do some research.

Thanks everyone for the feedback though!
