Elios wetsuit for scuba?

I am thinking about getting myself a tailormade elios wetsuit, but I was wondering if it would stand up to being used for scuba as well?

Only if it has a nylon outer coating. A suit with smoothskin outside would never stand up to being used for scuba.

well, I guess I've worn my smooth skin outside elios on about a dozen scuba dives with absolutely no problems, nicks or cuts... I just always check the b.c. for any sharp edges before putting that on.

Ask Ellios their opinion. They listed custom scuba wetsuits on their website.

Back a few month's ago i had Elios to make a custom made scuba wetsuit.
The top had an attached hood with zip from breast to crouch. Bottom's were long john's with leg zip. May i add that the top had the traditional "beaver tail" in which i like.

I ordered the same material that i had another suit made of in which Hiewa med. density rubber was used.

My advice for duribility & easy to dawn & doff , go with nylon elastic outside & open cell with the new black slick coating inside.

I have no problem & use very little lube around ankles , arms, & neck area.
Mine is a 5 mill & very warm & very water tight.

The best part from Elios was the great $., although the shipping cost were high. .

Thanks for the info. Was wondering what to do about thickness, would like to get a suit that is versatile enough to do scuba in the Uk and also to do scuba and freedive in warmer countries i.e Hawaii as I will be heading out there in the summer and would like a suit that could fill these requirements.

I doubt that one suit will be enough for UK and Hawaii. For UK I'd think you'll need at least 5mm. suit. And in Hawaii you'll be wayyyyyy too hot in it.

I was wondering about that, would be interested to know if a 3mm would do for UK summer diving if it was opencell interior pos with a seperate hood so that I could use it abroad without overheating too much?

Forget it. Get a good 5mm or 7mm suit for the UK, and buy a cheap short 2mm suit for the tropes - you can get one for ~20€ in every bigger store.
