what does it mean exactly? is it as simple as literally diving only with what oxygen is in your blood. or is there some crazy technique involved i read some where on a forum about it being one guys perfered method.

any ideas to what this whole "empty lung diving" thing is?

thanks

Lots of info on these forums. Search for FRC, exhale diving, half lung diving, Sebastion Murat. There is a good thread right now under freediving training.

As far as I understand it's simply diving without a full breath of air (lungs at residual volume).

I believe it can be used to reduce the changes of getting the bends when doing lots of repetative dives to depth.

It can be used as part of training as I think it is supposed to trigger the dive reflex faster.

If you search what cdavis suggests you'll probably find much more/better info than I know.

John.
