Eureka!. A simple device, to load your air gun.

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Don't think that,s the problem, tell you what, I'll try again, nope, just get the message, "This page cannot be displayed".

Geoff,
When you click on the "manage attachments" button you are given two options, one for uploading from the computer, and one for uploading from a URL. THe latter looks for the exact web address (on internet) of the image. I think you are trying to use this second option because that's why you are getting the "This page cannot be displayed" error.

Use the first option that gets the image directly from the computer, and make sure to press on the corresponding (upload) button, the upper one. If it still doesn't work email me the pics and I'll upload them for you.

Didn't call you as there was tramuntana all week and now with the good weather my girlfriends here, perhaps next week?

ADRIAN: Hi, thank,s, but yes, I am using the correct option. Maybe, the fault is with "my" computer. And thank,s for your offer, as well, I might take you up on it. Question to other spearo's, Who would you rather spend time with, Fish or your partner?. No contest!, the answer is obviouse...........or is it?.

I've had the same trouble with attachments before. it wouldn't upload files from certain folders on the puter, just kept giving me that page not found 404 message but it was no problem when the same file was uploaded from My desktop... weird.

OK, Mystery Resolved!
Geoff sent me the pictures he took of the device to help load the gun. I hope the sequence I put them in is correct:

Strewth mate!! I think they need some captions or explanation. Great stuff though!

OK I see it, not what I thought, much less clumsy. I wonder if one side could be left open to save unscrewing the tip?

good Lord!
what a contraption: well done! DIY a being a spearo seems to go together: "need is the best source of invention" or something like that.

Whats the V cut in the grip for?

OK I have looked a bit closer - "Strewth mate" that is going to take an age to load, as a boat builder I have plenty of experience of mastic guns - you are gunner need some forearm muscle & stamina! Great fun idea though.

My loader, for my Cannon!

Because of problem's I'm having with my computer, photo's of this loader, are under, ADRIAN'S post.

Well, I don't know what happened to my last post, it must have got lost in "Cyber Space". So, again, thank,s ADRIAN, & yes, you put them in the right order. Also, thank,s to PASTOR, for offering to post my pic's, as well.

OK, you'll notice that the spear shaft is minus it's tip, this is so it can be pushed through the loader, this does make it a bit slow to load, but that's a small price to pay for the absolute ease of loading. Yes PASTOR, I am in the process of making one that "load,s from the side", but I wanted to show all of you the device, "now". You'll also notice, I've "bent", the handle, it was too short & uncomfortable, the "Ergonomics" weren't right, (for me) & it was at the "Wrong Angle".To replace it's strength, I filled it with "Fiber Glass" filler. Also, it was, quite, "Slippery", so, I put a piece of inner tube on it . It fit's my hand perfectly now, & doesn't "Slip", & the change of angle?, much better!.

I put a "Handle", from an, "Electric Drill", onto the "Barrel", it's now, so much easier, & faster, to change the direction of the gun, &, less tiering!.It also helps "lesson", the "recoil".

Any question's, just ask.

A final note. These pic's, are simply to show every one, my solution to the problem of loading a, "Big" gun. You may want to build one yourself, but understand, that if (by using it) you damage anything, injure yourself, or, anybody else, I cannot be held responsible, or liable, for any such damage, or injury. This device is safe, if constructed from a "heavy duty" type of clamp, or mastic gun, not the "Cheep, & cheerful" type that cost a couple of quid!. Also, never, ever, half load the gun, (on land) leaving the device, "under tension", for a prolonged period. Also, & this is important, make sure that the spear shaft is long enough, so that, when it, "click's" home, on the trigger catch, in the gun, it still has 10 mm, or so, to go "BEFORE", it passes the "locking catch", on the back of the loader.

Just use your common sense, & remember, you are messing with a lethal weapon!. If you're not sure of any thing, mail me.....Keep safe,..Geoff.

For an explanation , look at,"New Thread's," under, "Pneumatic Gun's", (My loader). Instead of replying here, I mistakenly "posted" a new thread, & I don't know how to move it, (if that's possible). Also, appreciate that this is a first, "Prototype", & that it can be, "improved".I am in the process of doing just that.

Geoff, I merged that thread into this one, hope that's OK

.....I used this mastic gun to build my stringing machine for tennis rackets but I think it's too dangerous for this pourpose...great idea anyway.....

This is interesting. There is probably no reason why this could not be a much smaller device that clamps right over the muzzle

That's it, keep the idea's coming!. "Necessity, is the mother of invention!".
