missed a turning? ended up somewhere you didn't really want to be?

This happened to me yesterday... took a taxi home and dropped off... zzz i woke up when he was saying "this turn-off madam? this one?"

we had already passed it and the next turn-off available seemed to be in Oman... OMG :waterwork

we drove and drove, not a single u-turn.. and only the attached countryside for about half an hour
