Hello, I decided to get a wetsuit for freediving and having read some posts on the subject opted for Elios.

Anyhow, I'm ordering a 3mm Heiwa low density wetsuit, Superelastic outside and black coating inside. The suit would be used for freediving training, no spearfishing.

So, before I'm giving my final ok, I would like to hear your comments/advice regarding the suit. (Oh, almost forgot, it's with a hood and high waist pants)

Thanks.

Sounds similar to what I'm thinking of ordering from Elios for my wife. I'll be interested to hear comments also.

I've heard nothing but good things from the few locals that have them.

cheers

BTW, any of you guys who bought from Elios, how did you pay? I asked if I can pay using my credit card and they said sure but didn't specify HOW. They have an option to pay throe the website but it seems a bit 'weird' not ssl'ed and you don't specify what you want to buy... mail is also not the best option but will do if there is no other.

Thanks.

When you place your order with Elios, they will send you a payment link. Once you've put your details in, an email is sent to you acknowledging recipt of your payment and it also gives you an order number, which I assume is how Elios match the payment at their end.

I bought a 5mm freedown suit, and its fantastic - absolutely no complaints at all.

Good luck

Donna :)

3mm Heiwa is so strong, I find no reason to get superelastic outside. I would just get smoothskin outside, open cell inside. Good luck breaking it.

I emailed measurements and then paid on their website with no problems. They linked my order with my name on the payment.

Just got my 5mm heiwa nylon elastic/open cell last week. Fits great and is a dream to dive in.

Thank you all for the input, just placed my final order.

Eric: Thanks, but I opted to get the superelastic outside for added security, I don;t really have the money to buy a new suit every year and I don't mind paying in a little elasticity given I don't see miself in a competition (but who knows :D). I did read your comments in previous threads and changed the medium density to low density based on your advice, so thanks. BTW I PMed you about your monofin 'collection' did you get it?

spike: Sure, once I get it I'll tell all about it. Though based on all the comments I read on this board the suit must be at least good.

Thanks.

frox,

just thought I would mention...you could do without the black coating on the inside. open cell will be warmer and cheaper & you will likely need a little lube even with coating any way to put the suit on, because it will fit so well. As far as durability when putting on, the open cell of Heiwa is very resistant to damage or nicks (unlike yamamoto), so this wouldn't be a concern.

I got my 6mm black coated / superstrech last month. The fit is perfect!

When I made the order I forgot to tell them that I want the suit in low density. So it was made from medium density neopren.

About the black coating. Since I still need lubrication to get into the suit - I would save the 100€ and go for an open cell suit.

Hey Frox,

once you have confirmed your order i suggest that you call them up and give them your credit card details over the telephone.

Ask for Stefano as he speaks good english.

The will send you a confirmation of payment by email.

Not sure Juhani,

After working a number of years in an online casino I prefer to give numbers over the telephone ;)

I am also a lazy bas£$%d

Bankpass does not store any numbers which is great.

Ok, thanks, I'll try that. About the coating, afaik it doesn't add to the cost (at least not by the quotes I got by email) and warmth is not really an issue since most of my diving is going to be in 20+c water.

Thanks.
