Ok, Ive got the suit - a sweeet Body Glove Hooded number, part smoothskin. I'm ordering the rubber weight belt.

I need fins. for my cave diving I use SP Jetfins. Obivously, that won't work.

So I guess I need a good transitional fin to use until I have better control.

Thanks and dive safe

Brock,

My buddy, Ted, bought a pair of the Sporasub plastic fins from the Scubastore shop on this site.

They are a really nice pair of fins that you can beat on. If you decide that you really like the sport and want to get some fancy fiber blades or carbon-fiber blades, you can use the exact same foot pockets and just slip the new blades into them.

They also make a nice warm water scuba fin.

I don't think you'll go wrong with any of the carbon fins... if you're serious and going to stick to this hobby. I also picked up a pair of Gara's 2000HD's (along with some other odd fins) early on too but they took a long time to work my way into, they're a tough fin and a lot of divers like them. I find that I have to muscle the gara's through the whole kick but the carbons seem to store and then release the energy that I put into them better. The HD's have become my backup's as you cannot break them.
Got any freediving buddies who'll let you try out their fins?

None that regularly freedive.....

Like cave diving, I'm a rarity in Oklahoma. So I'm putting my trust in more experienced hands.

I'm selling some of my excess tech gear that I've never really been happy with (Dive Rite 55# wing for one) to support this.

Altho the Top Sub and Eliossub suits look great, I'm in the midst of a body reshaping program and hate to spend that just to out grow it. As it is I'm having to watch how much I gain for fear of outgrowing my drysuit.

I'm hoping that the lady David Lee steered me to can help also.

Dive safe
