Hi

In a previous post I saw E. Fattah's message about fire breathing. Can I have a precise description? In what is it different from common hyperventilation?
Do you use it for static, dynamic, constant?

Thanks

my experience of fire breathing comes from Kundalini yoga. they have an exersice wher you breath as deep and as fast as you can for a number of minutes. this makes your chest feel like its on fire...
...if this is the same fire breathing as Erik Fattah talked about, I can't say.
it is very effective as hyperventilation but it also makes you tired, so i dont know how effective it would be for a freediver...

"breath as deep and as fast as you can for a number of minutes. this makes your chest feel like its on fire... "

On my two best statics (wet and dry), I did two or three warm up statics ending with 5:15 and 5:30, one half minute recover, one minute (6) of 75% ventilations and 2 1/2 minutes (about 50) of these super ventilations. When it works it's great but, when it doesn't, things get bad in a hurry. The last time I tried this prep was scary. A hard, deep and long blackout. Now if my prep is rushed I will use a max of 5 hyper ventillations.
There was also a reference to breathing fire. On that web page they described breathing out forcefully and relaxing, about two times per second (no inhale). I've experimented with this for 10-15 seconds and it seems to have a calming effect, especially on deep dives.
