First Post, Newbie Experience - The Virgin Shot

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
safety events are, to the best of my knowledge, not needed for competitions, you will find that a lot of guys dive with custom guns that dont have a saftey, thats a really great fish for a first shot, very impressive.

I used to work at Scripps pier as a guard, dang if I only saw a few yellowtail and never with anything bigger than a small 1 band gun I used for Calico!

Sadly, I just ordered a JBL 38 Special that I am now learning is a "wimpy" gun....is this true? Should I try new bands? I'll post and try and learn.

GREAT FIRST FISH!

The Northwest Special is pretty powerful, especially with the stronger bands. I don't know if the trigger mechanism on the regular 38 special can handle the stronger ones, though. The issue with the NW is that the range isn't that great; it's just a powerhouse.

Thanks Batray, I'll give a try and it will simply make me work harder at being a stealth hunter.
