Alright - I have had several pairs of footpockets over the years - all from Sporasub. I am after two bits of info:

1) has anyone else experienced a massive variance in the rigidity of the rubber between sporasub footpockets? I had a pair of 42-44s that I could hardly get with socks on, and yet I have a pair of 40-42s that I can get into with a 5mm - come on man! :(

2) What are the essential differences between Omer and Sprasubs footpockets? I know that Omers are generally more rigid rubber, and have the same size brackets. Are they wider, narrower? Longer per size? Bigger in the heel, bigger in the toebox? etc.

I use 40-42 sporasubs with 3mm socks which fit near perfectly although they press down at the bridge of the foot slightly. I also use 42-44s in winter with a 5mm sock and these chaps are a wee bit loose around the ankle and again press on my forefoot slightly.

Does anyone have experience of remoulding fins? Heatguns etc? I don't want to do the old lacing trick. But I would be happy to stretch the forefoot slightly. How about any experience of making them thinner by heat?

Ben,

I personally think that all these comments on OMER pocket being bulky and rigid refer to older OMER pocket.
In my opinion OMER Millenium pocket is much more comfy than Sporasub pockets.

Old OMER pockets were simply terrible...Milleniums are VERY good...at least fit my foot really well and do not cause any chaffing.

After taking a very close look to Sporasub pockets...I think that they are more closely related to old OMER pockets than Milleniums.

BTW...where do you practice in Aberdeen?? Uni pool???
It is the only pool I know in Aberdeen......

Cheers,
Mikko
