footpocket padding

Hi All,

I've got a pair of special fins and fitting foot pocket,
except that there's bit of hollow space on the top part while the foot size fit just fine.

I'll have slight delay when finning in order for my feet to reach the top part of the foot pocket, I can get used to it.

but this will create inefficient fin kick and also blister on surface finning.

I read about adding some neoprene padding from a book,
but nothing technical or precise info that I can follow up with.

does anyone come across such problem or any experience to share regarding this?

Neoprene is fine for the pool but it compresses and loosens with depth. I have had luck with carpet remnants, either under or over the foot. 5mm hard rubber under the foot works best and can also adjust the blade angle in four directions.

I think over the foot sounds better so I can keep it flat on bottom foot,

what sort of rubber did you use?
and also what type of glue works better?

Someone gave me some scrap hard rubber but the cheapest way is to get an old heavy inner tube and use layers. If you rough up the surfaces with a wire brush, Shoe Goo and marine silicone work great. Use a ballon in the foot pocket to hold it in place 'til dry.
