FRC - I don't get it

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Great video above that I found a while back and took some great ideas from. I already do a small yoga session (usually just 10-15min of sun salutations) followed by a full body stretching session before I focus on any freediving specific stretches.

I found this video and incorporated the stretches:
  • 'Monofin stretch' at 1:25 - also side bends at 3:05
  • Side bends at 5:45 - these are actually one of my favorite (and feel most effective) stretches
  • Side bend variation at 7:15
  • Reverse packing/empty lung stretch (Uddiyana Bandha) at 10:45 - increasing the number of purges with each one.
I also do the uddiyana bandha stretch with my arms above my head (monofin technique) as i find it really helps to pull everything up and stretch out the abdominal wall at the same time. Please feel free to correct me if I am doing anything wrong or out the norm.

Thanks Marcin, some new stuff in there for me to try.

I've never seen a stretch that got at the intercostals in back. After my side intercostal stretches, I reach forward, grab something immobile pull and arch my back. Works on the intercostals in back. Seen anything similar?

Hi
Risk of lung and trachea squeeze
Start slowly, don t push it rely on your feeling. maybe tart with partial exhale dive and not FRC (passive exhale) but really good to work on your freefall position mouthfill technic and simulate deep dive.
Good luck enjoy
