It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Big Pimpin, Spendin Cheese!

There is supposed to be a Tech class diving to 150' at Wazee that weekend. Doubt they would be thrilled with us dropping in on them, but it would be fun to do!

I'll be there this year - showing all the new-comers how easy it is to black out. :head

I hope to be the second person on the soon to be really long list of people who rescue Ted.

Whether I make it or not Mark L. has given permission for the Monoflap to attend.

If I make it I'll bring my Tropol (soon to be reviewed) and if not, and if I can part with it, I 'll send it over.

Chris you're already bumped back to 3rd or 4th on the list to rescue Ted.

We've buzzed the tech classes in the past. Pretty easy to dive bomb them when they come up to their 70' stops and switch to their 50% mix during deco.

Lots of training lines all over the place, as well as the ones we'll be bringing with us, but it seems that they took out the 190' line that used to be there a couple of years ago.

Hopefully I'll have my fluid goggles put together by that time. Should be lots of other fun toys to try out as well. I just picked up a couple of more parts to mount my camera on the scooter for some high speed video runs through the trees.

What about the Lunocet? Do you still have that on in your arsenal of fins? Would be cool to get a look at that one. I'm guessing any fins you bring/send over are not going to fit on my feet, but I'm still interested in seeing them. I almost ordered two of the C4 Mono's for the Palooza for people to try. I'm considering the Sporasub Revolutions but I heard a little bit of info and I am having second thoughts.

just have to figure out the lodging...

camping is more fun, most of us stays in there to chill around the campfire, then You'd breath clean forest air all night and in the morning You'd be few steps from the dive site.

I just got big job offer near Denver at the house of George Lucas, no kidding, so I say "sorry boss, I'll be at Pallooza that time" Yeah!!!!

sure thing - I'll send the lunocet over. Do you have huge mutant feet Ildiver?
These are all about size 11 or 12 depending on if you have socks on - the C4 with probably me more 9-11 because I am getting smaller pockets for it.

The Lunocet has been redesigned based on our feedback - primarily the outward cant of the feet is gone and the shoes have been moved down and back relative to the trailing edge. Haven't seen or tried it but it should be better than this prototype. The bike shoes that are on it are probably 12s - I got them to allow for 5 mil socks.

Chris, how easy is it to switch bike shoes? I have a couple of extra pairs I could throw on it if it doesn't mess things up for you.

Since you're sending all of your toys over I sure hope that you could make it as well.

Jon

I might end up buying a C4 Mono, but I'll wait to try this one first. I have not tried the mustang footpockets. My wife will be thrilled that I am thinking of a third Monofin.

Mustang footpockets are the most comfortable footpockets I've ever used. They also give you a nice blade angle for swimming- at least the bi-fins do. I'm very interested in trying the monofin out.

I got the camera hooked up on my scooter last night and am looking forward to shooting some video in the underwater forest next month.

I've heard the Mustangs are better for narrow feet. Basically, I want to see for myself. Tired of hearing about them and wondering

Hello everyone my time off was granted and I will be there eager to meet you all. I am hoping to talk my buddy from RI into coming out. I will entice him with the offer of allowing him to repoint my chimney afterwards. don't laugh that actually may be the hook that lands him. Went did the Haigh Quarry (blogged the dive) yesterday. Joy to be in the water, bummer got stuffy shortly after in the water and couldn't equalize below 25 feet. Should I reserve a camp site also or will there be room for me in the two you get?

Hello all; I know the camp sites are primitive but two questions is there potable water and how far to the nearest town?

There is a hand pump and town is about 5 miles away.

This is the latest update I've got on lake conditions for Palooza:

Summer has sprung and the lake is warming up. Mid 60's all the way down to 30'. Divers in today reported 30-40 feet of visibility. Not much wind or rain lately so diving is at its best.

Jon

I'd be happy if that epilimnion doesn't get much warmer than 70F. I get a bit queezy going back and forth if the surface is too warm. Good report.
